OUR MISSION

Our objective is to build an international network of researchers and practitioners focused on natural resource governance in Brazil. The initiative emphasizes the transdisciplinary nature of resource governance by integrating academics from the natural and social sciences, arts, and humanities with current management practitioners and stakeholders. Complex environmental problems require innovative approaches that work across disciplines to address multi-dimensional and multi-scalar challenges. This initiative provides a learning platform and professional network for Brazilian and US students, scholars, and practitioners to develop and implement these solutions.

Current Activities

• Support research exchanges and joint projects between UGA and Brazilian graduate students and faculty.

• Develop an online platform to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration.

• Develop an online seminar series for exchange of ongoing research, methods exploration, and skills development. These ongoing dialogues will serve as a basis to co-develop research agendas with practitioner organizations.

• Organize visits to UGA by Brazilian academics and practitioners to present their work and develop long-term partnerships.
